MTSU RESOURCES

Leader Resources

Whether you are a new or a seasoned leader, it's always beneficial to brush up on the Girl Scout policies.  Before any activity is considered, please read and understand Safety-Wise (Ch. 4 of Volunteer Essentials).  Contact our Activity Consultant Diana Osborn for questions regarding your activity and appropriate training, progression and forms required.

BOOKMARK THIS LINK. It is the official way to send notice to Diana about events. Remember to always send notice to our Activity Consultant for any non-meeting event, even if the event is covered by your Annual Permission Slip.

Hosting an event that's open to other troops? Use THIS folder to help you.

Properties

Girl scout properties include Balboa, Escondido, Whispering Oaks and Winacka. All are available for day or overnight troop use and can be reserved online. More information can be found in the Property Resource Guide. Contact Diana Osborn regarding training and progression required to use camping facilities, council or other sites.

Training

Our Council offers a wide variety of courses and trainings that are designed to support you and increase your Girl Scout competence and confidence.  Visiwww.sdgirlscouts.org/training for list of all the leadership trainings offered.

Mini-trainings are available through the service unit and upon request from the SU and council. SU mini-trainings are announced on the Facebook page and by email. Mini-trainings that are hosted and led by council are listed on the council website training schedule. Registration is either by the SU or council, depending on who is leading. Most mini-trainings require a minimum number of participants to occur.

Events, Activities & Camps

You can access the Events Catalog online for a listing of council events, activities and camps available. Other sources include GS Weekly, which is emailed to all members, council website and of course the MTSU website.

Resource Center

The Resource Center, located at Balboa Service Center, provides materials and equipment for troops to rent or borrow, information and reservation of properties, and brochures, fliers and pamphlets of council approved activities and events for your girls to participate in.

Badges & Patches

Badges and patches can be purchased from the council stores, located at council, or online via the online store. They can be ordered or purchased on site. Other GS councils offer patches not available in San Diego so browse online to see what other patches your troop can earn. Looking for Council's Own badges and patches offered or a necessary form?  All forms and downloads can be found at www.sdgirlscouts.org/forms.
